English, spanglish, ebonics, and fly

Lol naw lemme stop. I only speak English, though I'd be completely fluent in Spanish had I had a good teacher when I was in uni. I'm tempted to get some of those Rosetta Stone CDs cuz I'd love to speak Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese.

English; Dutch; Arabic (Including all the different dialects, which are almost seperate languages); German; French; Spanish (far from fluent) and a lil' bit Japanese.

And I want to learn a couple more, lol.

how did you learn?

Dutch because I live in The Netherlands, Arabic from my parents (learned the dialects from friends and TV, lol), English from TV, especially from watching cartoons when I was a lil' kid. And ofcourse school (International Uni), German again from the TV and school, French.. school, Spanish school and my dad speaks it fluently, so I kinda learn from him a bit once in a while. Japanese from friends.

And I forgot one, Turkish. Not fluent, no, but good enough for the time being, lol. (also from friends)

When you say you don't speak it fluently what exactly do you mean by it?

That I have to think a bit before I reply.

Naah, it's not. Aslong as you use them frequently you won't forget them. But sometimes I kinda get lost in translation, lmfao :sweating:

fluently = like, perfectly. you can speak it as well as you can speak your number one language.

No, lol, I understand what fluently means, but I'm not sure if he's like "Oh, I know a few words in turkish. So, yeah, I speak it but not fluently" or he can really understand people and talk to them to a point.
