Bobby Creekwater Leaves Eminem's Shady Records Imprint

Postby Rapsoldier101 » Aug 14th, '09, 05:44

Bobby Creekwater has joined the growing list of emcees leaving the Shady/Aftermath camp, currently including Obie Trice [click to read], Stat Quo [click to read], Raekwon [click to read], Joell Ortiz [click to read] and Busta Rhymes [click to read].

"I, Bobby Creekwater, am...no longer with Shady anymore," said the rapper in a video for MauriceGarland.com. "We parted ways. It was a business decision. Wasn't no bad blood, or nothin' like that...The relationship just ran its term, understand what I'm sayin'? As far as Bobby Creek was concerned...I have big plans. And that particular relationship [with Shady] wasn't helping as far as the plans I had.'"

"And I didn't get dropped!" added Creek vehemently. "I felt like it was time to move on, so I made a phone call to Paul [Rosenberg, Eminem's manager and co-founder of Shady Records] one Sunday morning, and had a talk." He added that he was grateful for the manner in which everything was conducted, saying, "Just so you know, labels, in some cases, can choose to be assholes and hold an artist on their label...and put an artist through a whole bunch of bullshit. But they didn't, and I appreciate that."

Creekwater signed with Shady Records in 2005, and appeared on 2006's Eminem Presents: The Re-Up [click to read], a group album featuring the label's artists.

The move will likely fuel criticism of Shady/Aftermath, as the labels have already been lambasted for sparse musical output and numerous shelved projects. Currently, the Shady Records roster includes Eminem [cilck to read], D12 [click to read], 50 Cent [click to read], Ca$his [click to read] and Slim Da Mobster.

Cause the shit I hear is crazy
But your either getting lazy or you don't believe in you no more
Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
Cant make a decision you keep questioning yourself
Second guessing and its almost like your begging for my help

personally i think that proofs death and ems drug problem really threw a huge wrench in shady records' operation. everything slowed down after that.

The more that leave the more focused Eminem can be on his own music.Lets be honest Bobby Creek was never gonna do the numbers to make him staying there worth while for Eminem.Cashis is in the same boat so hopefully he tips on aswell.

I bump Cashis guys, he might be the steretypical Southern Gangsta, but if the music's good..

Although i kind of hope from a Comedic point of view that he gets dropped..
