Yayo screamed "i did my 16, finito" on Aint No Click while he did only 8.
Game's 100/200/300/120 Bars bullshit was 100/200/300/120 lines, not 200/400/600/240 lines.
50 Cent's 50 Bars Of Knowledge is 50 lines as well.
Eminem said "spit your 16" which is a verse. If Em says 16 is a verse than it's obvious 16 bars = 16 lines.
And there are more examples, like 50 saying, "here is a list of niggaz that can kill you in less than 8 bars" exactly at the 8th line.

Therefore 2 bars = 2 lines = 1 punchline

actually...A bar is the time between the bass drum, and the snare drum in a beat. so its kinda like

(bass drum)...............................(clap/snare)
(start line)..................................(end line)
