anyway, years ago if you went to the police about something, a certain 'organisation' over here would either get you shot or kneecapped, but now there telling people, especially the youth, to go to the cops.

No one who lives near where I am goes to the police. not necessarily because it's snitching, but because of what the police stands for here.
