Homelessness on the rise, Obama talks about facebook 9/08/09

Obama said as soon as he was in office, he would fix the economy. More and more people continue to go to sleep and wake up in 50 degree city streets on the cement without a pillow and eat food covered in slim and dirt, get cancer or some other disease and die without health care.

A lucky homeless family came across a radio host and talks about the experience of being homeless and how hard it is to actually get money to get an apartment, and how they used to think other homeless people should get themselves help. Then basically they found out they were stupid for thinking that in the first place.

When a girl in a school asked Obama how to become president, he decided to talk about the internet. He pulled out a jar full of pieces of paper. He put on a blindfold, put his hand in the jar, and grabbed onto a piece of paper. He pulled it out, took off the blindfold, and saw "http://facebook.com"

"Well, let me give you some advice. if you want to become president, don't put too much personal information on facebook. Yes, you can put personal information on myspace and twitter. But not facebook. Period. Thank you for your time."

"Mr President, what do you plan to do about terrorism, health insurance, and the homeless rate?"

"Well, first of all, I will go onto yahoo mail and ask my friends about their opinion on what I should do."

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama warned American teenagers on Tuesday of the dangers of putting too much personal information on Internet social networking sites, saying it could come back to haunt them in later life.

The presidential words of advice follow recent studies that suggest U.S. employers are increasingly turning to sites such as Facebook and News Corp's MySpace to conduct background checks on job applicants.

Taking part in a question-and-answer session with a group of 14- and 15-year-old school students, Obama was asked by one pupil for some advice on becoming U.S. president.

"Well, let me give you some very practical tips. First of all, I want everybody here to be careful about what you post on Facebook, because in the YouTube age, whatever you do, it will be pulled up again later somewhere in your life," Obama said.

"And when you're young, you make mistakes and you do some stupid stuff. And I've been hearing a lot about young people who -- you know, they're posting stuff on Facebook, and then suddenly they go apply for a job and somebody has done a search."

Obama referred several times to "mistakes" he had made when he was at school but offered no specifics. He has previously admitted to drug use when he was younger.

A survey in June by careerbuilder.com found that 45 percent of employers used social network sites to research job candidates and that Facebook, which says it has 250 million users worldwide, was their site of choice.

Some 35 percent of the employers surveyed said they had found content on the sites that had influenced them to reject a candidate. Examples included inappropriate photographs, information about the applicants' drinking or drug use, or bad mouthing of previous employers, co-workers or clients.

The Obama White House frequently uses Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites to bypass the media and communicate directly to Americans.

After seeing obama talking about a fucking website on how to become president, I'm beginning to think "I fought my way through the white house to become the first african american president" is a complete fucking lie. No surprise there. The only time Obama has said anything intelligent was when it was on paper. Obama was unprepared.

I read somewhere Obama became president because the "public" would like to see a black president with the personality he has.

Calm down...go watch Fox News or something.

That's a joke, but really man. It's not that hard to figure out (from my perspective) that the president didn't answer questions like that because they were political in one way or another, or at least that they could be perceived that way. Due to all of the conservative (twelve toed hillbilly, nazi, redneck...mother-fuckers) babble about indoctrination--and that's who I'm referring to with my comments, those who actually thought there was brainwashing going to happen--the speech was constructed very carefully to avoid anything political. So come on, just think about it a little bit before you write off his answers (to a group of children) as being too simplistic.

Just sayin'...
