how to record online radio?

Postby Mc Cubz » Nov 11th, '09, 02:18

I have cool edit pro 2.1 but I'm not sure how to record from an online radio station? I've had a look in settings to try and change the input from mic to 'soundcard' etc but I can't find anything. Are there any other softwares readily-available online I should download to do this? Any help would be much appreciated since my dads gonna be on the radio in a few hours. :y: :sweating: :worship:

go to download.com and search Online Radio Tuner 2.1.7 or Screamer Radio 0.4.3 and Dl either of them and that should work for ya :y:

actually here
http://download.cnet.com/Online-Radio-T ... ?tag=mncol

User friendly program for listening to online radio stations. Playlist support: PLS, M3U, ASX, WPL, WAX, WMX. Audio format support: MP3, WMA, OGG and AAC(+). Save you favorite radio stations and manage them easily. Minimize to the System Tray. Notify song changes by balloon tip or MSN-like notifier. Show others what you are listening to in MSN Messenger. Record what you hear as M P3's. Scheduling and global Hot Keys.

What's new in this version:

Version 2.1.7 has fixed a MP3 Tag bug that shows incorrect info. The Presets Window can now be closed by pressing the ESC key.

u can get a 2 way jack..like the part that plugs into the speakers or mic part of your computer..find one with the same ends and plug them into both the microphone AND speaker...and then find a program like audacity or cool edit and hit record while the audio is playing on ur computer..that's the easiest way I found..

Here's the easiest way possible. You don't have to download shit.

If your using XP:

Click on the volume icon, right next to the date and time. Options > Properties > Recording > Tick Stereo Mix > Make sure the stereo mix is selected and not the microphone > Set the volume > Open Cool Edit > Record. :y:

Yep. Using stereo mix to record is basically recording whatever plays on your computer. I been stealing beats from soundclick since 06 lmao. Stereo mix is the shit. :y:

yo that shit worked pretty good xray..one question though...whats the best settings to record for the highest quality...cuz like the quality of it IS off..like if I wanted damn near CD quality..like what I'm hearing to be the exact file I'm recording..I set all volume levels on medium, and I set it to 32 bit float..and export mp3 quality to 320kbps...but is there anything else to upp the quality

the songs on my myspace are stuck on there..and it'd be really awesome to get them off of there without losing quality...this is the only way I've found to actually do this..cuz myspace changes their settings all the time and every way I found to save them before is outdated..but this definitely works and pretty damn good..just minor quality issues :y: thanks for the help.

Download Real Player SP - http://eu.real.com/download/player/win/ ... sp_free_eu - And whenever you want to download songs/videos use Internet Explorer. For example, if you want a beat from soundclick that isn't available for download. Play the Hi-Fi and on the player right click and it should say "Download this video to Real Player". Myspace, right click the song and click on "Download this video to Real Player". It downloads the exact same quality as the video/song your streaming.

im pretty sure that it doesnt work with myspace...cuz I have a program similar to that...it lets you download any .mp3/video file thats on the page right? or does this program record the stream..myspace music player works off of flash and when I use the program I have it doesn't recognize any media files because it is being streamed through a flash player...i've searched for months now how to get files off of myspace..the way I listed above and yours..but im too lazy to get the jack for my way way..and its probably going to have the same quality issues that your way had..but if that program actually records the stream thats being played through the speakers it might work..otherwise its not going to recognize it as a media file the way myspace protects their files now.

True, shit is protected. Well I can't think of anything, so your gonna probably have to just record it using stereo mix.
