The most important contribution to science of all time

Postby GoodGirlsGetGutted » Nov 16th, '09, 01:48

Think about this.

I'd have to say Joseph Lister's discovered method of hospital sterilization, because it paved the way for modern medicine to be possible.
Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

The discovery MC Anonymous made when he mixed his lyrics with a rap beat. He made jawcular fission.
LMFAO@ Brittney, bitch looking worse than a chupacabra mixed with a broken down coyote. You're disgusting ugly, so ugly in fact, my brain simultaneously exploded while processing how bitterly grotesque you look. I would much rather stick ice picks into the walls of my cranium, then stick my dick into your quagmire of a clitoris. You're what would happen if a sperm whale mated with a Godzilla fish..

I'd say Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection. Without that we wouldnt know about the evolution. And if we are not familiar with where we come from, we cant go forward. In science, off course. But thats just my opinion.

That is a very valid point.

I cannot come up with one particular all time important contribution however on a similar note I would also say interpreting DNA and stem cell research, microsurgery -particularly on bloodvessels and organ transplants which is evolving into all different kinds of tissue transplatation and regeneration to become possible

Imagine what the medical field is going to be like in 50 years...

i gotta go with Darwins theory of Evolution because that shows where man came from in a way that makes sense to people out side of religion.

or Hawking and all his work with the Universe and gravity

I agree it's important, but his name was Reginald Punnett, not Edward.

Scott M wrote:Albert Einstein, for discovering gravity.

But why is that a great contribution?

Gravitation was first noted by Aristotle, then furthered by Galileo Galilei, then Newton, then finalized by Albert Einstein. So Einstein didn't necessarily "discover" gravitation.

Off course not. Newton did.

I'd say Darwin, Einstein, or Hawking...on another note Ben Franklin invented a shitload of things that changed the way we lived and paved the way for a lot of shit so props to him too :y:

And something called the BALLCOCK was invented for the toilet by a guy named Thomas CRAPper.
Strange coincidence, isn't it?
