the reason i ask this, is because me and my stepbrother have always wanted to live there for like, 3 years or something. it's always been a little dream we've talked about since we were about 16. so, this is for the americans of TRshady to reply to. where would you say would give us the best experience? no doubt we'll be visiting a lot of states, but where in America would be the best place to live and to rent a flat or something?

atm, i'm leaning towards New York.

new england is pretty good, ish. if you like the outdoors, it's cool. just live in one of them small towns, a lot of nice people, just stay away from the punk idiots. if you stay away from them, you can meet a lot of cool people and make some nice friends.

If you're really leaning towards New York, I would seriously recommend that you check out western New York instead of New York City or upstate. Because they're friendlier here, it's not as crowded, not as violent, and their accents are much less annoying. The New York City accent will drive you nuts (nothing's worse than the Boston, Massachusetts accent though).

Um, the south. That's where I'm from, so, I hope you go to georgia. Atl, and Gwinnett. Both very cool places. Stay away from Mobile, Alabama. Non-civilized people.

C'mon, he's asking for the best place to live in the U.S. The South is nowhere near the best, that's like saying the Midwest is even a contender. Be serious.

In the end, if you want the best, you'll either be on the east coast or the west coast, and the farther north the better.
